Under MNREGA, the construction work of forest ponds, forest floor and forest dams was done in the forest department. In the district in 2017-18, these works were done in 5 tehsils of Deori, Arjuni Morgaon, Saleksa, Amgaon and Goregaon. The commissioner (MGNREGA) investigated the works of Deori tehsil on 4 September 2018. There was a mistake in it.
Along with this, on the face of financial irregularities, the then Divisional Commissioner Dr. Sanjeevkumar gave a letter to the District Collector on 30 January 2019 and directed to investigate all these construction works. In which the Chief Executive Officer of the JIP and the member secretary of the Conservator of Forests were appointed.
Tehsildar and Assistant Accounts Officer of Deori, Deputy Collector (Royo) were also included in the committee. But due to the administrative approval of these works during his tenure, both of them were separated so that the investigation would be fair. After this, the Branch Engineer, Junior Engineer, Assistant Accounts Officer and Extension Officer investigated. 7 Inquiry Sub-Committee after examining these works submitted the inquiry to Ahwal District Collector.

The investigation of 203 works was completed. 10 crore 3 lakh 77 thousand 569 in 130 works. Difference of Rs.1 crore 88 lakh 81 thousand 569 in 18 works, Rs.11 crore 92 lakh 59 thousand 138. Of embezzlement, 26 works were not investigated while documents of 19 works were not available during the investigation.
