Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan says that the people of India are very likely to start receiving COVID-19 vaccine by March and April. He claimed that between July and August, the central government will vaccinate 25 to 30 crore people. Dr. Harsh Vardhan’s statement comes at a time when PM Modi is having a virtual meeting with three teams developing a vaccine of Coronavirus.
The Health Minister told the media on Monday, “COVID-19 vaccine is likely to be available for the countrymen in the first 3-4 months of next year. Our plan will be made available to about 25-30 crore people by July-August, preparations are also going on accordingly. ”
According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), earlier, PM Modi held talks with three teams Geneva Biopharmaceuticals Limited Pune, Biological E Limited Hyderabad and Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Limited Hyderabad through video conferencing. PM Modi appreciated the work of scientists and researchers involved in the development of COVID 19 vaccine. The PM also talked about the potential of the vaccine being developed on different platforms.
Meanwhile, the central government has announced Rs 900 crore for the COVID-19 vaccine development mission in the third relief package of the Corona epidemic.
PM visited 3 cities on Saturday
Earlier on Saturday, PM Modi visited the facilitation of three major companies involved in COVID-19 vaccine development. PM visited Zydus Biotech Park in Ahmedabad, Serum Institute in Pune and Bharat Biotech in Hyderabad. Here he discussed with representatives of companies the vaccine development and the strategy of making it available to Indians.
