Mumbai. The cases of Coronavirus infection are increasing continuously in Maharashtra. Due to which the tension of the state government is increasing. According to the data released by the Health Department on Thursday, 46,197 new cases of corona infection have been reported in the state in the last 24 hours. While 37 people died. Apart from this, 125 new patients of Omicron have been found. With this, the number of active cases has gone up to 2,58,569.
According to the Health Department, after receiving 43,697 corona patients and 49 deaths in the last 24 hours in the state, the total number of infected people has increased to 73,71,757 and the death toll has increased to 1,41,971. At the same time, after 52,025 people became corona free, the number of people who got cured has reached 69,67,432.

At present, there are a total of 2,58,569 active patients in the state. At the same time, 24,21,501 people are in home quarantine and 3,391 people are in institutional quarantine. The state has recorded a recovery rate of 94.52%, a death rate of 1.92% and a positivity rate of 23.5% today.

Omicron infected reaches 2,199
According to the Health Department, 125 new Omicron patients have been found in Maharashtra in the last 24 hours. Of these, 87 reports have been received from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research and 38 from the National Chemical Laboratory. All the new Omicron patients have been found in Pune. With this, the total number of infected has increased to 2,199. So far, 1,144 people from Omicron have been cured in the state.
95 percent beds empty in Maharashtra
Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope said, “The positivity rate in the state is 23.5%, but districts like Raigad, Pune, Nashik, Nanded have very high positivity rates. Despite the high positivity rate, the hospitalization rate is very low and 95% of the beds in the state are vacant.”
