Bhiwandi : Officials of Powerloom Organizations of different cities of Maharashtra State met the Textiles Minister of Maharashtra State and handed over a written memorandum to powerloom owners who use more than 27 horsepower to get electricity bill. Along with the increase of time in the process of filling the online form for the subsidy, there has been a demand to give convenience in the conditions of the online form.
It is worth noting that the power loom industry in the state of Maharashtra is given subsidy on the electricity bill by the state government for the last several years. On behalf of the Ministry of Textiles, the powerloom owners, who use electricity more than 27 horsepower in the powerloom industry sector, have been ordered to fill the online form further to get subsidy in the electricity bill. It is mandatory for all to fill 32 column forms online. The last date for filling and submitting the form was extended to 31 January 2021. Those powerloom owners who do not fill the form on time, such powerloom owners will not get subsidy in the electricity bill. Powerloom owners disagreed on many details in the form to be filled online. According to sources, many such conditions were kept in it which the powerloom owners could not fulfill.

In this regard, the powerloom owner’s organization protested against this, along with extending the date of submission of the form, as well as filling the form offline with online and giving exemption in the column filled in the form, had demanded from the Ministry of Textiles, but the textile industry The Industries Commissionerate had rejected the contention of the powerloom owner organizations. The above issue was going to cause a big crisis for the powerloom industry of the state as it could stop the subsidy in the electricity bill received by the powerloom industry. Regarding this matter, representatives of the State Powerloom Industry Association, Textiles Minister Aslam Shaikh and Minister of State for Textiles Rajendra Patil Yadravkar, President of Padmanagar Powerloom Association, Purushottam Vanga, Vishnu Davkhare along with Bhiwandi, Solapur, Ichalkaranji, Malegaon Powerloom Industries and Traders Associations. Representatives Chandrakant Patil, Ashok Swamy, Rahul Khanjire, Vinay Mahajan, Rajgonda Patil, Subhash Balwan, Suraj Dubey, Pantappa Gaddam of Solapur, etc. had appealed to solve the problem.

In the above context Purushottam Vanga, President of Bhiwandi Padmanagar Powerloom Association, Vishnu Davkhare said that the Textiles Minister listened carefully to their problems and asked them to fill the form giving subsidy in electricity bill to the powerloom owners using more than 27 horse power. In order to give further time and reduce the conditions given in the form to be filled online, the officials of the powerloom organizations have been asked to prepare a draft. On this suggestion of the Textile Minister, the powerloom owners of the state have heaved a sigh of relief for the time being. President of Bhiwandi Padmanagar Powerloom Weavers Association Purushottam Vanga said that in this context, a meeting of the office bearers of the organizations related to the powerloom industry of the state would be organized in Mumbai soon.
