Aurangabad: The construction work of Skill Development Center has been started for the skill development program being run by Aurangabad Smart City. The center is being built in the N-5 community center of the city.
Under the guidance of Smart City Municipal Commissioner and Administrator and CEO Astik Kumar Pandey, Aurangabad Municipal Corporation, Aurangabad Smart City and Lighthouse Foundation NGO are running skill development program for Aurangabad city. In order to provide employment opportunities to the youth of the city, under this program, free training of various types of courses is given to the youth.
Computers and other materials were also supplied
It includes various courses like Beauty Parlour, Front Desk, AC Repairing. The skill development center will be located in the community center located at N-5 of the city. For this the community center building is being renovated. Work has started on this. Soon it will start at the Skill Development Center. For this, computer and other materials have also been supplied by Aurangabad Smart City.
Under this skill development programme, 202 youth have registered for various courses from March to September 2021. Of these, 157 youth have completed their course. Till now 17 passersby have got employment. 175 youth have registered for the skill development course of this program while 90 have registered for the vocational course. Presently Lighthouse has training centers at Ramnagar, Misarwadi, Padampura, Raja Bazar, Ganesh Colony, Harsul, Nagsennagar, Nandanvan Colony and Paharsinghpura. There are 95 trainees at these centres. Meanwhile, new centers will be set up at Vedanta Nagar, Srinagar, Nath Super Market-Aurangpura.
