According to the information received, Gopinath Madhvi and Mahendra Madhvi had procured coal from hydraulic Hiva truck for use in brick kiln in Tembhivali village. While emptying the coal, the compressor rod of the trolley broke due to which the truck overturned on the laborer’s hut located nearby. Lavanya (7), Amisha (6) and Preeti (2), the three daughters of a tribal laborer who were sleeping in the hut at the time of the accident, have died after being buried. After getting information about the truck overturning, the workers working on the brick kiln took out the bodies of the three by removing the coal from the hut.

According to sources, Balaram Valvi, a resident of Mohili Pada, Dugadphata, along with his wife and 4 girls worked at the brick kiln of Gopinath Madhvi and Mahendra Madhvi in Tembhivali village and lived by building a hut near the brick kiln. At the time of the incident, the head of this family, Balaram had gone out to defecate and the wife was cooking food with her 2-year-old daughter Kirti on the wood stove outside the hut, which saved the lives of all three. As soon as the information about the painful accident was received, the police reached the Bhiwandi taluka on the spot and after performing the Panchnama of the dead body, sent the body for post-mortem to the IGM Hospital, from where the police handed over the family to the family members for the last rites.
On the complaint of Balaram, father of the deceased girls, a case of culpable homicide has been registered against brick kiln owner Gopinath Madhvi, Mahendra Madhvi, administrator Suresh Ramdas Patil, truck driver Taufik Sheikh. Police sub-inspector Dabhade, who is probing the incident, has arrested Gopinath Madhvi and administrator Suresh Patil, who have been sent to police custody till January 29 by the court. Police is searching for both the absconding accused. Angered by the incident, the local residents expressed their anger by attacking the truck with stones, after understanding the police, the agitated people were pacified. The agitated people have demanded the early arrest of the absconding people from the police officers.
