Nashik : At present 98 CNG buses are running on various roads in the city for City Bus Transport of Municipal Citylink. In the next 6 weeks, 100 more CNG vehicles will be added which will help in minimizing the losses incurred by the Municipal Transport Department.
At present, the Municipal Corporation is incurring a loss of Rs 25 per kilometer. If 200 CNG buses are started to reduce this loss, then the loss will be reduced by at least Rs 10 to 12 per kilometer. This means that the loss can be up to fifty percent. This will result in less financial loss to the Municipal Corporation. It is also planned that CityLink buses will be able to run on every road in 15 minutes.

15 CNG buses will be run every Monday. Thus it is planned to start 100 buses in phases in 6 weeks. At present, the CNG company plans to fill city buses from Mother Station at Vilholi and Namrata Petroleum Pump at Pathardiphata.

Transport Manager Milind Bund inspected Namrata Online CNG Pump at Pathardi Phata. CNG will be filled in Citylink buses after 10 pm, so it will be possible to fill the bus at this pump. This pump has been inspected.

The distance between ONLINE Mother station Vilholi is 6 kms and the distance between Namrata Pump is 3 kms. It is estimated that this can save 140 rupees. Efforts will be made in this regard. It will be possible to fill the bus at the online pump instantly and the cost will also be less.
100 new buses
Due to the shortage of CNG, the Municipal Corporation was waiting for 100 buses to run for the bus service. Those buses will run soon due to online pumps.
120 kg CNG per bus
CNG gas as a fuel for buses is cheaper than diesel. 120 kg of CNG is required in a bus. The bus can carry an average of 100 kg of CNG. Citylink bus service started in Nashik from 8 July 2021. 250 buses were planned to be put on the road in 5 phases. At present, 98 CNG and 50 diesel buses are plying on various routes in the city. The remaining 100 buses have been stopped due to non-availability of CNG. Maharashtra Natural Gas Company’s online mother station has been started at Vilholi. This made it easy for the municipal bus to run. The 2 CNG pumps at Chehri and Tapovan provided by the Municipal Corporation will be operational by the end of March, 200 CNG buses in the city bus fleet will get adequate supply of CNG. Once this facility is available, buses will run on each route at an interval of 15 minutes as per the plan prepared by CityLink.
