Thane : Now a new twist has come in the MMRDA house scam in the limits of Thane Municipal Corporation. In fact, the Home Minister of the state, Dilip Walse Patil, has taken the matter seriously and handed over its investigation to the CID Department of the state. With this decision of the government, it is being expressed that the officials and corporators of Thane Municipal Corporation involved in the scam will be punished.
It is worth noting that now 8 accused have been arrested in MMRDA’s home scam. But many officers and corporators of Thane Municipal Corporation have also been involved in this scam. But no action has been taken against them so far.

The pace of investigation of this scam did not accelerate
On this matter, Thane Congress President Vikrant Chavan told in a press conference that the state Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil has now ordered the investigation of this scam from Mumbra and Diaghar police to hand it over to the state CID. At the same time, he claims that if the CID investigation starts in this corruption case, then many officers and corporators of Thane Municipal Corporation will come under wraps. Chavan said that the MMRDA’s home scam case was exposed earlier. But the pace of investigation of this scam did not accelerate. The investigation process was hampered due to political initiative to save the arrested accused. After that, the Congress demanded an inquiry into this scam from the state Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil.

Cases of MMRDA home scam have been registered in Mumbra Diaghar police station. In this case, cases were registered against Thane Municipal Corporation contractor, security guard, private clerk in the Municipal Corporation posted by the Security Board. After the registration of the case, there was political pressure on the local police station and efforts were made to save the culprits. Due to which the pace of investigation could not accelerate. Then Congress made a written request to State Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil demanding that the investigation of this scam be handed over to the State Department. Accepting the request, he ordered the CID to investigate the scam.
The Congress has been alleging that along with some eminent office-bearers of Thane Municipal Corporation, corporators are also involved in the MMRDA’s home scam. Due to which many types of political obstacles were being put in the investigation of this case. The city Congress raised its voice regarding this. He sought State Home Minister Patil’s intervention in the matter. During this, Congress spokesperson and INTUC President Sachin Shinde and Girish Koli were also present.
