China, which is creating tension on the border, is advancing India to create a positive environment. The new round of talks between China and India on the withdrawal of troops from the remaining areas of eastern Ladakh has been unsuccessful. After this, the Chinese military has said that India should take advantage of the ‘current positive environment’ to reduce tension on the border. The 11th round of talks between the two countries lasted for 13 hours on Saturday. Subsequently, the Indian Army said in a statement that the two sides held a detailed discussion on the withdrawal of troops from the remaining parts of the deadlock at Hot Spring, Gogra and Depsang in eastern Ladakh. It also agreed to maintain peace on the ground, avoid any new confrontation and resolve the remaining issues at a “rapid pace”.
China issued a statement
Individuals associated with the matter said in New Delhi on Saturday that no tangible progress was seen in this military dialogue between the two countries as the Chinese delegation joined the talks with “preconceived thinking”. Apart from this, no flexibility was shown towards moving forward on the process of retreating the soldiers in the remaining areas of conflict. The People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China issued a communique on the talks between the armies of the two countries on April 9. In February, pointing to the withdrawal of troops from most disputed areas of Pangong Lake, India said that India should move towards reducing the tension on the border.
Proceeded on the agreement reached in the previous meeting
China Global Television Network (CGTN), citing a release issued by a PLA spokesperson for talks on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) towards India at the Tushul Border Center, said the two sides should move forward on the agreement reached in the previous talks needed. A spokesman for the PLA’s Western Theater Command said, “We hope that the Indian side will take advantage of the current positive atmosphere created to reduce tensions on the border area by following the agreed negotiations between the armies of the two countries in previous negotiations.” Also, to establish peace on the border, we will move in the same direction in which China has moved forward.
