Critics are reacting strongly to the plans for the release of Gulchekra Bobokulova. All are raising the question that is it not a threat to the society?
A woman who beheads a girl while chanting a religious slogan, is going to be released after five years. The 43-year-old ‘child killer’ Gulchekra Bobokulova, who was on the streets of Moscow, held the baby’s head in one hand and threatened to blow himself up. In 2016, a court ruled that Bobokulova was ‘mentally ill’ and sent her to a psychiatric ward for treatment. It is now being claimed that Russian doctors have ‘cured’ her ‘Chronic Psychiatric Disorder’, due to which she murdered the girl and had to go out on the streets with her head.
Critical reaction is coming from Bobokulova’s plan to release. All are raising the question whether it is not a threat to society? The footage of the gruesome murder can be seen with a severed head in his hand before being surrounded by police and rolled onto the pavement. This murder shook the whole world. Bobokulova brutally murdered a girl named Anastasia (Nastya) Meshcherikov, whom she cared for. Then shaking the head of the girl at a metro station in Moscow said, ‘I am a terrorist’.

Bobokulova claimed that she wanted to avenge the bombing by Vladimir Putin in Syria. After the murder, the girl’s parents had questioned the court’s decision and demanded a proper prosecution of Bobokulova. He was supported by Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny and described psychiatric diagnosis as politically motivated. Bobokulova was sent to the hospital for compulsory psychiatric treatment.
The victim’s mother is in awe
The victim’s mother said that if Bobokulova finds me or my other child in the future, my family cannot feel safe. During the investigation, he testified that he intended to kill our entire family. Popular blogger Leena Miro questioned the release plan, which has been revealed by the Moskovsky Komsomolates newspaper.
100 percent impossible to recover
He said that it is not right. It cannot be sent home with the prescription of taking medicines and showing a psychiatrist regularly, but this can happen in Russia.
