Pencilaiah, 54, a resident of Chennai Ice House area, had lodged a complaint with the Vadapalani police station on January 14. According to News18, in the complaint, the 54-year-old man said that he had received a mysterious threatening call saying that his youngest son Krishnaprasad (24) had been kidnapped and demanded Rs 30 lakh. Along with this, he also threatened to kill his son if he did not pay the money.
