Mumbai: Former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has been summoned once again by the Chandiwal Commission. According to ANI, a production warrant has been issued against Anil Deshmukh and sacked policeman Sachin Waje has also been summoned. Both have been asked to appear on December 16 and December 20 respectively.
In fact, on Monday, Anil Deshmukh and Sachin Waje once again appeared before the Chandiwal Commission probing the allegations of corruption. Deshmukh was made serious allegations of corruption by former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh. Deshmukh was accused of extortion of Rs 100 crore. Deshmukh, currently in judicial custody, was arrested by the ED in a money laundering case.

Earlier, apart from Deshmukh, sacked Mumbai Police officer Sachin Waje and former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh have also appeared before the commission. Waje was first arrested by the NIA, after which he was taken into custody by the Mumbai Police. The Maharashtra government had in March this year set up a single-member commission of Justice (retd) Chandiwal to probe the corruption allegations leveled by Parambir Singh against the then state home minister and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Deshmukh.

Singh, who was removed from the post of Mumbai Police Commissioner in March following the seizure of explosives near Antilia, had alleged that Deshmukh had asked police officials to collect Rs 100 crore per month from bars and restaurants in the city. The Central Bureau of Investigation and the Enforcement Directorate are probing the allegations leveled against Deshmukh by Singh.
