Deloitte CEO Puneet Ranjen said the US Chamber of Commerce’s US-India Business Council and the US-India Strategic and Partnership Forum and Business Roundtable’s collective initiative task force met in Washington on Monday. In this meeting, a commitment has been made to send 20,000 oxygen machines to India in the next few weeks. This global workforce on the Corona epidemic will provide vital medical supplies, vaccines, oxygen and other life-saving support to India.
Indo-US can take advantage of their expertise in fighting Corona: Blinken
The first global task force of its kind to deal with the public health crisis in a country was addressed by US Secretary of State Tony Blinken. Blinken tweeted that this conversation shows how the US and India can leverage their expertise and capabilities to resolve India’s COVID-19 crisis. Earlier, the US Defense Minister Austen Lloyd directed the Pentagon, the headquarters of the Department of Defense, to provide all necessary support to health workers fighting the war against coronaviruses in India.
20,000 oxygen controllers will be sent to India
CEO Puneet Ranjan said in response to a question, “Many American companies came together over the weekend. We are focusing on all possible help.” As Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that after successfully dealing with the first wave, we are very confident, our morale is high but this wave has shaken the country. Now our responsibility is to deal with it in some way. He said that the most important are oxygen and its concentrators. 20,000 oxygen controllers will be sent to India in the next few weeks.
Deloitte’s 2,000 employees corona infected in India
The Deloitte CEO said that the first 1,000 machines will arrive this week and another 11,000 machines are expected to arrive by May 5. He said that the second issue is to send oxygen cylinders with a capacity of 10 liters and 45 liters. Ranjan welcomed talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Joe Biden and America’s decision to provide medical supplies to India immediately. He said that both countries are natural allies. He said that about 2,000 employees of Deloitte in India are infected with coronavirus.
