Akola. The Shakuntala Railway, which runs between Murtijapur and Achalpur since the British era, has come to a standstill for the last few years. Many travelers are still hoping that it will be revived and its glory will return. Now in this context, Dr. Vitthal Wagh, socially conscious Vijay Wilhekar, attracting everyone’s attention, Dr. Vitthal Wagh has composed this poem ‘Gopala Gopala Shakuntala Suru Kara’. Along with this, the birthday of ‘Shakuntala’ has been celebrated at Akola railway station on Thursday.
‘Shakuntala Bachao’ banners were put up around the railway station. Poet Dr. Vitthal Wagh presented a poem on Shakuntala in a rocky voice at Akola station. It was highly appreciated by the people present here. Shakuntala’s engine was decorated with flowers at the railway station. Presenting the role of Satyagraha in the defense of Shakuntala, Vijay Wilhekar said that the government has spent Rs 150 crore on the beautification of Akola railway station.
He said that if 100 crores were spent for Shakuntala, then Shakuntala’s wheels can run again. Krishna Andhera testified that the people of Akola are with the Satyagraha. Announcements like ‘Shakuntala Gadi Garibachi River’, Shakuntala must be started, etc. were given on this occasion. On this occasion, Departmental President of Maratha Federation, Krishna Andhare, Manoj Tayde of Shetkari Jagar Manch, Railway Bridge Technician Ramdas Chavan, Vijay Lazurkar, Chandrakant Jhatale, Dhananjay Mishra, Aruna Chavan, Sindhu Wilhekar, Seema Tagore, Nitin Jhatale etc. were present.
Special program at Yavatmal to Achalpur railway stations on 26th
On January 26, there will be special programs for the democratic freedom of Shakuntala Railway at all railway stations between Yavatmal and Achalpur. Shakuntala Railway song composed by poet Dr. Vitthal Wagh will be sung on this occasion. Similarly, flag hoisting at Murtijapur railway station, flowers from helicopter at Yavatmal railway station, 300 feet high national flag will be hoisted on railway tracks at Achalpur railway station. Along with this, Vijay Wilhekar has given information about the flag hoisting till Parel Mumbai, the headquarters of narrow gauge railway.
