In Britain, a Baba has been accused of raping four female devotees. This Baba followed an obscure branch of Hinduism. It has been revealed in court documents. 65-year-old Rajinder Kalia allegedly tried to convince his devotees that he is an ‘incarnation of God’. Kalia, using his power and influence in Baba Balak Nath temple, located in Bell Green, Coventry, tried to control children up to the age of four.
This Baba is accused that he told his followers that if any member of the temple speaks anything against him, he should be attacked. At the same time, the four women who have accused Baba are no longer members of the Coventry Temple. A case was filed against Rajinder Kalia in the High Court last month by a lawyer named Claire Kirby. Earlier too, there were allegations of rape on Kalia. But due to lack of evidence in 2017, the case against Kalia was dismissed and he has returned to the temple. Kalia is a former textile salesman and clerk and has a relationship with India.
Speaks against Baba, gets beaten up and threatens acid attack
It was only after returning to the temple in 2017 that he told his followers to harass those who raised their voices against him. A follower even claimed that he was threatened with an acid attack after speaking against Baba. It is said that one of the followers was also beaten up badly after speaking against Baba and his two servants. According to the claim made in the court, Kalia’s followers reach Glasgow to see him. Kalia reportedly claims to be pious and has been working to subdue young girls for the last three years.
Takes money to show devotion
Most of the followers of Rajinder Kalia are women from the lower strata. He tells them that the outside world is evil and should be avoided. Watching videos of Kalia’s teachings show that his followers kiss him and touch his feet. Devotees of Kalia also pay close to 12 thousand pounds of money to show devotion to him. Kalia currently lives in a house in Ryan-on-Dunsmore, Warwickshire.
