Britain had to bow down after India’s retaliation for the recognition of the Corona Vaccine Coveshield. UK Ambassador to India Alex Ellis said that no Indian traveler who has taken both doses of Covishield in India will have to be quarantined. These rules will come into effect from October 11. Indian travelers who have taken all doses of Covishield or a UK-recognized vaccine will only need to produce a vaccine certificate in the UK.
UK did not recognize Covishield
The UK has not yet recognized the WHO-recognized India’s Coveshield, due to which Indian students and other Indians would have to stay in Quarantine for 10 days upon reaching the UK. India also retaliated by making a 10-day quarantine necessary for British nationals arriving in India.
The UK had included some countries in the Red List, under which travelers coming from those countries are required to stay in the hotel quarantine for 10 days after reaching the UK and also have to undergo a corona test two days before the end of this time. This rule is also applicable for those who have taken both doses of the vaccine.
India is currently placed in the Amber List. This means that passengers going from here will have to undergo a COVID-19 test three days before the journey. On the second day of arrival in the UK, the traveler is required to undergo a corona test again. Pre-travel testing is also necessary for people who have taken both doses of the vaccine.
In response to the restrictions imposed by the UK on Indians over the Corona epidemic, on 1 October, the rules of 10 days compulsory quarantine were also implemented in India against British citizens. The condition of corona test was also laid.
The UK government has said that if a person has been vaccinated in Africa, or South America, or countries including the United Arab Emirates, India, Turkey, Jordan, Thailand, Russia, then they will not be considered vaccinated and they will have to comply with the quarantine rules. Will have to do
UK made discriminatory rules
Even if they are vaccinated, Indians will have to undergo a pre-departure Covid-19 test within three days prior to travel, book and pay for another eight days of Covid-19 testing on the second day after arrival in the UK , and will have to be quarantined at home or at the place where they are staying for 10 days. They must fill out their Passenger Locator Form at any time in the 48 hours prior to their arrival in the UK.
