Pimpri: As per the instructions of the Central Government, Pimpri-Chinchwad city has started giving booster dose from Monday. In the first phase, booster doses are being given to health officials, staff, frontline workers as well as citizens above 60 years of age and patients with various diseases. Only nine or 39 weeks after taking the second dose will be eligible for a booster dose.
As per the directions of the Central and State Governments, the vaccination of children in the age group of 15 to 18 years has started from January 3 in the city. There is a good response in the city regarding corona vaccination for children in the age group of 15 to 18 years. In view of the possible threat of third wave of corona, a campaign has been started to give booster dose to frontline workers and people of 60 years and above. Vaccines will be given to health workers, frontline staff in Corona and colleagues above 60 years of age.

Vaccine center opened for citizens
Citizens who have completed 9 months or 39 weeks from the date of taking the second dose of the corona preventive vaccine will be eligible for the third dose. Kovishield Vaccine Center has been opened for such eligible citizens above 60 years of age. The first and second doses of Covishield will be given to all citizens above the age of 18 years. Citizens over the age of 60 who have been vaccinated with Covaccine will be given a booster dose, according to the Municipal Health Department.
