People were screaming for help, but no one had reached out to them for help. People slowly started drowning in the river. At the same time, some people swam to shore and saved their lives. But the rest of the people were not so lucky.
Dozens of dead bodies found in a boat submerged below 21 meters
As soon as the incident was reported, the rescue team reached the spot and started rescuing people from inside the river. The collision was so strong that the boat broke down and sank to 21 meters below the river. Rescuers started rescuing people with promptness. Those who appeared above the surface in the struggle of life, with hands and feet, were immediately rescued and sent to the shore. A team of divers reached the cabin and lower deck of the submerged boat and found dozens of corpses there. These people could not swim and got trapped here and died.
63 people missing, no one knows till date
As soon as the information about the sinking of the boat started, hundreds of relatives started reaching the banks of the river. The corpses of those killed by the river were taken out and placed on the shore. From here, the family would identify the dead bodies and they would be handed over to them. More than a hundred dead bodies were evacuated from the river after a week-long rescue operation. Most of these people died of drowning. Rescue teams said that a total of 110 people died, while 63 people went missing. Those who had no trace of it.
