Mumbai: In view of the increasing cases of Coronavirus Pandemic and the increasing threat of Omicron form, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to organize celebrations and gatherings of people to celebrate the New Year in any closed or open place in the city. is banned. Mumbai Municipal Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal issued an order to this effect late Friday evening.
“On the occasion of New Year there shall be a ban on gathering of people or holding of functions in any open or closed area under BMC jurisdiction,” the order said. This order will be effective from the midnight of December 25 and will remain in force till further orders. The order states that this will apply to all hotels, bars, restaurants and all such privately owned places which can be used for such celebrations.
