Thane: The Thane city BJP protested against the waiver of fine and interest imposed by Shiv Sena MLA Pratap Sarnaik in the illegal construction case. Agitating under the leadership of MLA Sanjay Kelkar and Municipal Corporation’s group leader Manohar Dumbre, protesting this decision of the Thackeray government, made the announcement. It was also demanded that the justice imposed on Pratap Sarnaik should be applied to the common man and that Thane taxes should be given complete tax exemption.
It is worth noting that yesterday, Thanekar’s decision to waive the fine and interest on illegal construction of Chhabaiya Vihang Garden in the Council of Ministers is getting a sharp reaction. At the same time, BJP is strongly opposing the decision of the state government and today a dharna was held in front of the municipal headquarters. In this movement, MLA Sanjay Kelkar, Manohar Dumbre along with senior corporators Milind Patankar, Sanjay Waghule, women’s unit president Mrinal Pendse, corporator Archana Manera, Sunesh Joshi, Namrata Koli, Pratibha Madhvi, Sneha Ambare, Deepa Gawand, Sunil Handore, Transport Committee Member Suresh Kolte and others participated. BJP expressed its opposition by raising slogans like MLA Pratap Sarnaik Tupashi Thanekar Janata Upashi, Uddhav Thackeray’s Ajab Pratap, Thackeray Sarkar Hi-Hi.

During this, MLA Kelkar said that this is a wrong decision from Thane’s point of view. Common people have to pay by going to the Municipal Corporation to get OC. But, by waiving the penalty for illegal floors of the building built by Sarnaik, the Thackeray government has given a kind of support. At the same time, Kelkar said that this is the first such incident in the history of Maharashtra.
Thane Karo fine and tax should be waived on property tax: Manohar Dumbre
BJP leader Manohar Dumbre has demanded that the state government should waive the property tax levied on Thanekars. At the same time, he questioned whether poor people live only in Sarnaik’s building? Will Thackeray government waive fine on builders who build unauthorized buildings elsewhere? The question is, will such a complete exemption be given in the entire state? Dumbre said that such a decision by the state government is to create a wrong practice which the BJP opposes.
