Bihar Assembly Election 2020: Preparations for Bihar assembly elections are going on in full swing. Nominations have also been done for 71 seats of the first phase. In this phase, 1066 candidates have enrolled. According to an analysis of the affidavit by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), Kiran Devi of RJD has the highest annual income. This is the income which he has shown in the annual income tax statement. However, if we talk about the richest candidate, then the richest candidate in the first phase is Anant Singh, contesting from Mokama Assembly constituency in Patna district. He has shown his total assets of more than 68 crores.
Annual income of one crore from farming, animal husbandry and dairy
According to the affidavit filed by RJD candidate Kiran Devi, her annual income is more than 1 crore and if it includes the income of her husband (and dependent) then it is more than 3 crore. He has filed income tax in the financial year 2020-21. He is contesting from Sandesh constituency in Bhojpur district.
They are on the second and third
Rakesh Ranjan, who is contesting on an IND party ticket from Paliganj constituency in Patna district, has an income of more than 64 lakhs. However, if we include the income of his wife (and dependents), then it is more than 2 crores. He has filed income tax in the financial year 2018-19. He showed his income as a partnership firm and showed his wife income from a house property apart from a partnership firm.
Kaushal Kumar Singh, who is contesting on a Rashtriya Lok Samata Party ticket from Banka constituency in Banka district, has shown his annual income of more than 2 crore. By adding the income of his wife (and dependent) to this, it reaches close to 3 crores. He has shown his income as a director of many companies in the income tax statement for the financial year 2020-21.
Some candidates have not filed income tax details
Five candidates have declared their assets in excess of 95 lakhs but have not filed their income tax details. These people have not even given their PAN card details. On top of this, Bawan Yadav is from Nawada constituency of Nawada district fighting on the ticket of IND party. He has shown his assets of more than 6 crores.
After this, there is Dr. Vinay Kumar of IND party from Mokama area of Patna district whose assets are more than 3 crores. Suman Devi of Rashtriya Lok Samata Party from Mohania (SC) area of Kaimur (Bhabhua) district with assets of more than 2 crores, GANDAM Ojha, IND candidate from Shahpur area of Bhojpur district with assets of more than 1 crore and 90 lakh Akhileshwar Bhagat of Bahujan Mahaparty from Suryagraha area of Lakhisarai district with more assets has not filed income tax details. 116 candidates (about 11 per cent) have not declared their PAN details.
