1 Billion Vaccine Dose: The world’s largest corona vaccination program is going on in India and today this program has touched a new milestone. 100 crore (1 billion)th vaccine was administered in India today. This is a huge achievement for India’s vaccination program after a slow start and increased concern from the government and healthcare providers due to the recent drop in vaccinations. In this regard, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya will launch a song and audio-visual film. According to the Union Health Ministry, Mandaviya will launch this song and film at Red Fort to celebrate this landmark milestone. Till Wednesday, 99.85 crore doses had been administered in India, out of which about 90 percent is the AstraZeneca vaccine, which has been prepared in India by the Serum Institute of India.

Target to vaccinate 944 million adults this year
Union Health Minister Mandaviya has appealed on Twitter to those who have not taken the vaccine dose, to take its shots at the earliest and contribute in the historic vaccination journey of the country. The government wants that by the end of this year, 94.4 crore adults of the country should be given the dose of corona vaccine. So far, 75 percent of these people have got at least one dose of the vaccine and 31 percent have taken both the shots. According to the ministry, there are also a large number of people who have not taken the second dose of the vaccine even after the due date has passed.
So far 3.41 crore cases have come to India
So far 3.41 crore cases of corona virus have been reported in the country. Due to this, more than 4.52 lakh have died. Most of the deaths occurred during the second wave of the corona epidemic due to the delta variant, which was rapidly infecting people in April and May 2021. Vaccination is considered to be the most effective method for its prevention and it started in India from January 2021. On an average 50 lakh doses are being administered every day this month, which is one-fifth of the record level of the month of September. The pace of vaccination has slowed down, while the stock of vaccination is very high due to record production. States have stock of more than 10 crore vaccines. New cases of infection have come down to the lowest level since March, but the government is motivating more and more people for vaccination in view of the coming festive season.
