- 9.4 drop in infection rate among children, direct recruitment of doctors for the first time in UP
Lucknow : Uttar Pradesh is achieving daily records in terms of improving health facilities. According to the data of National Family Health Survey-5, UP has performed much better in terms of improving health facilities. At the same time, UP ranks first in the delta ranking of NITI Aayog.
NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant said that there has been a lot of improvement in UP in terms of sex ratio, infant mortality rate, increase in medical colleges. In the health index, UP has been successful in achieving 5.52 in developing performance. Assam is second and Telangana third in the Delta ranking.

Compared to the previous governments, there has been a rapid improvement in health services during the tenure of the Yogi government, which is evidenced by the data of National Family Health Survey-5 and NITI Aayog’s health index. UP, the most populous state, is number one in terms of reforms. According to the data released in the National Family Health Survey-5, the rate of infection in children has come down as compared to earlier and the mortality rate has also decreased in the newborn.
9.94 percent drop in neonatal mortality
After the year 2017, a lot of positive changes have been seen in the condition of newborns in the state. According to the report of National Family Health Survey-5 for the year 2020-2021, UP has improved more than the national level. In UP, the Neonatal Mortality Rate (NNMR) in rural and urban areas was 45.1 percent in the year 2015-2016, while it has been recorded at 35.7 percent in 2020-2021. In such a situation, a decline of 9.94 percent has been registered in the neonatal mortality rate. There has also been a significant improvement in the released data on the mortality rate of newborns (per one thousand) of children born at the age of one year or less and the rate of death in less than five years.

Talking about the infection rate among children, before the year 2017, the infection rate in children was 15 percent, while now it is 5.6 percent. A decline of 9.4 was recorded in the infection rate of children under the Yogi government. The Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) in UP is currently 50.4 percent, while it was 63.5 percent earlier. The infant mortality rate within five years is 59.8 percent, while before the Yogi government it was 78.1 percent. Before the year 2017 in the state, where thousands of children used to die due to infection, but due to the golden schemes of the state government, the condition of the children of the state has improved.
Simultaneous direct recruitment of doctors
Direct recruitment of more than 1000 specialist doctors was done in UP. Direct recruitment of specialist doctors has been done in UP. A transparent counseling session was organized by the department for 400 specialist doctors. In which they were given the opportunity to choose their own place of posting voluntarily. In this session held in November, more than 300 specialist doctors participated and selected their place of posting.
