Mumbai: Union Minister Narayan Rane’s son Nitesh Rane has received a major setback from the Bombay High Court. Nitesh Rane has been denied anticipatory bail by the court in the case of alleged attempt to murder. During the earlier hearing, the court had put the order on January 17 for hearing on the anticipatory bail plea filed by Rane.
According to ANI, the Bombay High Court, while hearing the case, refused to grant anticipatory bail to Maharashtra BJP MLA Nitesh Rane in an alleged attempt to murder case. Another co-accused Manish Dalvi’s anticipatory bail was allowed by the High Court.

Earlier on Wednesday, during the hearing of the petition, Rane’s lawyer Nitin Pradhan told the court that an FIR was lodged against his client to stop his participation in the bank elections after the joke incident. Pradhan told the court. Told that the incident of teasing and sarcasm outside the Vidhan Bhavan on December 23, 2021 by shouting ‘meow’ had hurt the ruling party and its leaders took it as an insult. Some Shiv Sena leaders had even said that my client (Rane) will be taught a lesson.

In fact, during the campaigning for Sindhudurg District Co-operative Bank elections, a local Shiv Sena worker was allegedly attacked, for which Shiv Sena workers blamed Nitesh Rane. After which a case was registered by Kankavali police in Sindhudurg district under sections-307 (attempt to murder), 120(b) (criminal conspiracy) and 34 (common intention) of IPC.
