Aurangabad: Ever since Dr. Nikhil Gupta took over the charge of city police commissioner, he has kept a close watch on every matter that happens in the city, immediately investigating the matter to his subordinate officers and punishing the culprits. Gives strict orders to be arrested. The city police has been able to uncover 84 percent of the total cases registered last year by various methods adopted by Dr. Gupta. For which all the credit goes to the city’s CP Dr. Nikhil Gupta.
CP Dr. Gupta, after taking over as CP of the city, has continued the process of praising the officers who have done better work in the investigation as well as rewarding them. Last year, he has given rewards of Rs 25 lakh to the officers and employees who have done better work. He did not rob his accolades of any kind while giving the reward. On the other hand, Dr. Gupta is not behind in telling a lot of lies to the police officers and employees who are negligent in their work. This is the reason that out of the total 4 thousand 585 cases filed in the year 2021, the city police was able to uncover 3 thousand 514 crimes. The proof of resolution of the cases stood at 84 per cent.

In the press conference, CP Dr. Nikhil Gupta told that due to non-availability of work to the people during the lockdown period, they were moving towards crimes out of desperation. Due to non-availability of employment opportunities during the lockdown period, disputes in the family, and many cases came to the fore. The youth, in particular, indulged in drug abuse. Due to which they continued to carry out incidents of drunken blood, rioting, assault. The CP made it clear that the city police is making every effort to check the illegal drug trade.
31 blood cases have been registered
Gupta said that 31 murder cases were registered in the last year. The city police has been successful in uncovering all these cases. At the same time, 88 rape cases were registered, in which 87 cases were uncovered by the city police. There were 38 incidents of Mangal Sutra theft, in which 24 cases were exposed. The CP said that in the high-profile murder case, cyber and crime branch police managed to arrest the accused after conducting a better investigation. Notably, in the incidents of chain snatching also, CP Dr. Gupta claimed that there has been a steady decrease in the incidents of chain snatching since the crime branch police busted the Irani group.
Appreciation of the work of City Chowk police in finding stolen vehicles
CP Dr. Nikhil Gupta praised the work done by the City Chowk police of the city in uncovering large-scale cases of vehicle thefts in the last year. CP Dr. Gupta said that a large number of vehicle theft cases were registered in the City Chowk police station area in the last year. In it, City Chowk police did a better job and exposed almost all the cases of vehicle theft. The CP also praised the work done by the Cyber Police Station. The CP said that the highly educated accused are looting huge amount by luring people online. The cyber police of the city has also done a better job in uncovering the cyber crimes. The CP praised the work of the police officers and employees working in Damini Pathak which was successful in saving the lives of 52 people.
Traffic branch recovered revenue of eleven and a half crores
Last year, the city traffic police took action against 3 lakh 64 thousand vehicle holders who violated the traffic rules and recovered revenue of Rs 11 crore 66 lakh from them. Responding to a question, the CP said that an independent branch would soon be set up by the city police commissionerate on ransom cases. At the same time, a branch related to the health of the police will also be set up on January 26. Deputy Commissioner Aparna Gitte, Deputy Commissioner Ujjwala was present in the press conference.
