Myanmar’s civilian leader Aung San Suu Kyi has been in military custody for two months, but his health is well. His legal team gave information about this. Ever since the military coup, there is constant diplomatic pressure on the army. Demand for restoration of democracy in Myanmar is being demanded through daily demonstrations in the country. However, the protesters are facing brutal action by the army. Significantly, 520 civilians have died in demonstrations since the military coup on February 1.
Due to the violent action of the army, it is being criticized internationally. The US State Department has ordered the non-essential diplomatic staff and their family to leave Myanmar. Japan, which is the largest donor to Myanmar, has stopped future financial assistance. The 75-year-old Suu Kyi has not been publicly seen since the February 1 military coup. The army has kept him under house arrest.
Serious charges have been leveled against Suu Kyi
Min Min Soo, a member of Suu Kyi’s legal team, was called to a police station in the capital, Napida, for a video meeting with him on Wednesday. The country’s civilian leader has been charged with serious criminal charges. If the charges are proved, they can be punished for being removed from their political posts for life. His legal team issued a statement saying, looking at him on the video screen, it seemed that Suu Kyi’s physical condition was good.
Suu Kyi will appear in court on Thursday
The statement said that Suu Kyi told that during this meeting, police officers were standing with the lawyers. During this time, the guards were trying to listen to their conversation. At the same time, seeing all this, the Nobel laureate asked if it was legal to do so. Soo Ki is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday for a hearing. Let me tell you that the Myanmar army has accused Suu Kyi that he took a bribe of gold and six lakh dollars. However, his lawyers say that these are just baseless allegations.
