Ashneer Grover: BharatPe cofounder and former MD Ashneer Grover has denied spending a huge amount of Rs 10 crore on a dining table. Dismissing the claim, Grover said he would instead invest in one business and create jobs for others.
The former managing director of BharatPe replied via microblogging site Twitter saying, “BharatPe’s board lies.”
Grover tweeted the photo of the dining table kept in the house
Grover tweeted a photo of the dining table in his home, “Is this a space rocket? Is this a time machine? No, it’s a dining table worth Rs 10 crore!! haha! I haven’t set a Guinness World Record for the most expensive table. Nor do I have any such intention. Don’t fall for the lies of Press- Bharatpe Board (without revealing the source) – you will lose your credibility like them.”

Not even 0.5 percent of the stated amount has been spent
Grover said that even 0.5 per cent of the amount mentioned on the dining table has not been spent. He wrote, “I would have invested Rs 10 crore in the business and would have given employment to 1,000 people, so that they could earn and provide good food for their families.”
Earlier this week, Bloomberg said in a report that Grover had spent $130,000 (Rs 1 crore) on a dining table.
After being removed from BharatPe, Ashneer Grover said, “There is no problem in sleeping on the ground”
Grover was accused of misappropriation of funds
Recently, senior leadership of BharatPe had accused Grover of misusing funds. The employees had made several complaints against him.
In an audio recording leaked on Twitter, a Grover-like man was heard threatening a bank employee for not helping him buy an IPO. Grover went on vacation shortly after the recording went online. However, he denied having his voice in it on Twitter.
Since then, Grover, 39, has been an attacker on his company, which he himself had set up. At the same time, he is trying to remove its chief executive and is threatening Bharatpe’s board.
