Mumbai: The Russia-Ukraine War has now taken a very dangerous form. Meanwhile, concern has increased regarding the Indian Nationals present in Ukraine, especially the students. The Government of India, however, is making all efforts to bring back the Indians trapped in Ukraine. In such a situation, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has told that about 1200 to 2000 people of Maharashtra are trapped in Ukraine. He has said that, ‘We are working closely with the Center to bring everyone back safely.’
Earlier, Maharashtra government minister Uday Samant had written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging that arrangements should be made for the safe return of about 1200 students from the state studying in Ukraine. The same demand has been made by Maharashtra Higher and Technical Education Minister Samant in a letter to Home Minister Amit Shah and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. Samant had written the letter dated 23 February.

The city of Mumbai has an island district and a suburban district. The Ministry of External Affairs has also issued toll free number 1800118797, telephone number – 011-23012113 / 23014105 / 23017905 and fax number 011-23088124 for citizens stranded in Ukraine. Along with this, the ministry has also issued a mail id to help.
