There has been a split in the peasant movement and some unions attached to it have pulled their hands from it. He has also taken his camp from Delhi. Due to which the farmer movement seems to stop, but in the meantime, the famous social activist Anna Hazare is going on a fast unto death against the Modi government from tomorrow, January 30, regarding the agricultural laws. Anna Hazare says that he has been requesting the central government to implement the recommendations of the Swaminathan Commission from the year 2018 but nothing is being given importance to him. Therefore, being angry with this attitude of the government, now they have decided to go on fast from January 30.
Even before this, Hazare had announced a hunger strike over the demands of the farmers. He wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi amidst the farmers’ agitation against the agricultural laws. Earlier, on 14 December, in a letter to Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, he demanded to implement the recommendations of the Swaminathan Commission.
Anna Hazare says that the government has not paid any attention to their demands, so they are adamant on fasting from January 30 in the context of farmers’ demands. He said on Thursday that he will start a fast in his village Ralegan Siddhi with various demands from farmers. He has urged his supporters to join the protests at their respective places.
According to sources, the government has already started efforts to convince Anna Hazare. Union Minister of State for Agriculture Kailash Chaudhary Anna Hazare has been tasked to prevent Anna Hazare from fasting. Kailash Chaudhary will reach Siddhi today and talk to Anna Hazare.
Before Kailash Chaudhary, former Speaker of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Haribhau Bagde, former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, BJP leader Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil and Ahmednagar MP Sujay Vikhe Patil, among many other leaders have come to celebrate Anna Hazare. However, Anna Hazare is not ready to back down at any cost and he is adamant on fasting decision from tomorrow.
