Ankhi Das has been with the company for 9 years, Facebook said. He is one of the early employees of the company in India and has played a key role in the growth of the company
Ankhi Das, the head of Facebook India’s controversial public policy, has resigned with immediate effect, social networking company Facebook has announced. Ankhi has decided to resign from his post from Facebook as he is interested in serving the people. He was one of the first employees to join All India and played a key role in the development of Facebook. He has been in charge for the last nine years, said Ajit Mohan, vice president and managing director of Facebook India.
The Wall Street Journal report sparked controversy
He resigned following a report in the Wall Street Journal on August 14. The Wall Street Journal said Facebook’s top leadership company was refusing to apply its own rules to leaders of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Violence, hate speech and misleading information are not being prosecuted, despite a clear violation of Facebook’s policies.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Facebook employees raised the issue of the provocative post made by T. Raja Singh. In the case, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi also alleged that Facebook was not deleting such hate speech. The BJP-Congress clashed over the issue.
