It is being developed using the Japanese E5 Shinkansen technology. It is estimated that more than 90 thousand direct and indirect jobs will be created during its construction. Apart from the Ahmedabad-Mumbai high-speed rail corridor, studies are also going on for Delhi-Amritsar, Delhi-Ahmedabad, Delhi-Varanasi, Varanasi-Howrah, Mumbai-Nagpur, Mumbai-Hyderabad and Chennai-Mysore high-speed rail corridors.
