Amravati. In the State Government’s Agricultural Pump Electricity Connection Add Policy-2020, farmers are getting a golden opportunity to clear the electricity bills of agricultural pumps outstanding for years. According to the outstanding scheme, Rs 15 thousand 96 crore and 66 lakh rupees have been waived by Mahavitaran for the convenience of delay and interest.
Now 44 lakh 50 thousand farmers of the state will get a waiver of Rs 15 thousand 353 crore 88 lakh on payment of 50 percent amount out of the current electricity bill and the rectified dues till March 2022. Along with this, the outstanding electricity bill will also become blank.
Participation of 16 lakh 42 thousand farmers
A 66 percent rebate will be given to get rid of the arrears of agricultural pump electricity bill from the Agriculture Pump Electricity Addition Policy, prepared from the concept of State Energy Minister Dr. Nitin Raut. As on September 2020, 44 lakh 50 thousand 828 farmers in the state had a principal arrear of Rs 45 thousand 804 crore.
In which Mahavitaran company has given 10 thousand 420 crore 65 lakh and exemption of Rs 4 thousand 676 crore 1 lakh in delay size and interest, in this way a total amount of Rs 15 thousand 96 crore 67 lakh has been adjusted. Due to which farmers now have rectified dues of Rs 30 thousand 441 crore 75 lakh. Farmers will get the benefit of this scheme if the current electricity bills of the defaulting farmers and 50 percent of the outstanding dues are paid by March 2022.
15,096 crore apology received earlier also
In Nagpur Regional Department, Rs 2504 crore 73 lakh of 9 lakh 2 thousand 282 farmers were waived. Out of the rectified arrears of 4593 crore 59 lakh, 50 percent amount and remaining balance of Rs 2296 crore 80 lakh will be waived on payment of current electricity bill. So far, 16 lakh 41 thousand 970 farmers have participated in the electricity bill dues liberation scheme in the state. He has paid Rs 769 crore 56 lakh out of the current electricity bill and rectified dues of Rs 945 crore 9 lakh.
According to the scheme, a total of 4992 crore 19 lakh rupees have been waived of all these farmers for interest and penal waiver, adjustment of shoot of writing and correction of electricity bill and 50 percent arrears waiver. In which 2 lakh 31 thousand 116 farmers participated in the outstanding relief scheme in Nagpur regional department.
3.50 lakh farmers’ bills blank
Taking advantage of the scheme, 3 lakh 50 thousand 338 farmers of the state have cleared the electricity bills. These farmers had rectified dues of 1020 crore 65 lakhs. He cleared the bill by paying Rs 184 crore 92 lakh of electricity bill and 50 percent arrears i.e. Rs 510 crore 42 lakh. These farmers have got the waiver of the remaining 50 percent i.e. Rs 510 crore 43 lakh out of the arrears. Under this scheme, the Nagpur Regional Department has made 52 thousand 513 farmers arrears free.
