- Moratorium on Chaurasia Mine (Plus-Bottom Must)
Amravati. In the case of illegal quarrying and blasting in Mauja Parsoda, Masod, a stay order has been issued on the mining of ballast mafia Nilesh Chaurasia in an area of 3.77 hectares. Additional District Magistrate Ramdas Siddhabhatti issued this order on Thursday on the report of the inquiry committee of the district administration. The district administration has taken this action due to continuous follow-up by MLA Ravi Rana in this matter.
Illegal mining and blasting case
After complaints from Masod and Parsoda villagers regarding illegal quarrying and blasting at Chaurasia Stone Industries in Parsoda area of Masod, MLA Rana along with mining officers took guerilla action in the mine on 11 December 2021. After which the district administration formed a committee to investigate the matter. On the report of the inquiry committee, a notice was issued to Chaurasia and an explanation was sought within 24 hours. But Chaurasia sent a letter on 23 December 2021 asking for 15 days’ time. But the administration ordered to present an explanation by 3 pm on December 24, but Chaurasia did not give a satisfactory explanation even after the time period. Due to which a stay order was issued on his mine. Additional District Magistrate Siddhabhatti has given this adjournment on the order of two pages.
Measurement of stone saffron
A special team of Mining Department, who arrived from Nagpur on Wednesday to measure the stone crusher of controversial ballast mafia Nilesh Chaurasia regarding illegal mining in Parsoda Masod mine, has claimed to have received ballast reserves of 45 crores in micro-inspection. Due to which the fact of stealing the same amount of revenue has come to the fore. Rana told that the team of Nagpur DGM measured from 9 am to 6 pm with state-of-the-art equipment regarding illegal mining of Chaurasia. This team gave orders to the district administration to seize the illegal ballast stock.
45 crore ballast stock found
According to the information of the Geological Mining Department, this measurement will last for the next 4-5 days in the stone crusher of Chaurasia. During this action, MLA Ravi Rana, Tehsildar Santosh Kakde, LND Engineer Bhatkar, Divisional Officer Chatur, Patwari Nirmal, Mining Report Clerk Langde, Geological Mining Department’s measurement officer Varhekar and Mr. Khante, besides Ashish Kavre, Abhijit Deshmukh, youth self-respect, Sachin Bhende, Parag Chimote, Nilesh Bhende, Ankush Thackeray, Milind Kahale, Prashant Chambhare, Irfan Bhai, Ajay Ghule, Ajay Morya, Gautam Hire, Ashwin Uke, Rahul Kale, Shubham Umberkar were present.
