Mumbai: Those traveling in Mumbai local train can get good news soon. The Railway Board has proposed to reduce the fare of AC local trains in Mumbai. AC locals have been introduced with the aim of making the journey of the local train called Mumbai’s Lifeline more accessible, but due to their excessive tickets, very few passengers are traveling.
Actually, the Railway Board has proposed that the single journey fare of AC local in Mumbai should be reduced. According to the Railway Board, this fare can be fixed on the basis of the fare of the metro train running in Mumbai. It was told that if this proposal of the Railway Board is passed, then passengers of Mumbai can be charged a fare ranging from Rs 10 to Rs 80 for a one-time journey in AC. At present, the fare for AC local is Rs 65 to Rs 220. There is no change in season ticket fares in the offer.
