Nashik: Ramkund, situated in the Panchavati area of the holy city of Nashik, is a wonderful confluence of devotion and reverence. Every day thousands of people come here for worship and devotional atmosphere. But the filth in some parts of the Ramkund complex, flowers and rotting rice offered at the mouth of the Ramkund water, insects and mosquitoes growing in the stagnant water have raised serious questions about the cleanliness of the place.
Flowers and other floating items in the water of Ramkund, rotting rice, fruits, trees and other items in the water can become a threat to the health of the devotees who come here. People coming here take a bath in this Ramkund before worship. The muddy color of the water and all the worship items floating in the water can cause skin diseases and other health hazards.

Broken and dangerous pits everywhere
It is clearly visible in the picture to what extent this pit in the Ramkund complex is dangerous. This is where water has accumulated in the pit at a nearby place, which seems to be quite old and moss is frozen in it. Insects and mosquitoes are living in it. This water is also used for worship, bath and sometimes for making Chanamrit. It is understandable that what can be the problem due to this polluted water going inside the body.
Municipality should decide the responsibility
The municipal garbage cart picks up the garbage that accumulates in the Ramkund premises, but no one cares about the cleanliness inside the Ramkund. The silt in the water, the running clothes, the rice put on the shore, the flowers are lying like this. If the employees of the Municipal Corporation pay attention to the cleanliness inside, then such a picture will not be seen. The administration gets a lot of revenue from this special religious tourist place. Thousands of shops in this complex carry the lives of thousands. But if this condition of filth remains, then tourists can get away.
Ganga Godavari Purohit Sangh angry
In this matter, Ganga Godavari Purohit Sangh President Satish Shankar Shukla said, I have submitted a memorandum to the Municipal Commissioner several times in this regard. Repeatedly requested for cleaning Ramkund, but he has not paid attention to it till now. Complaint has also been made to the departmental commissioner regarding this. but to no avail. They see the cleanliness of the outside, they do not pay attention to the cleanliness of the inside.

I will talk to the municipal commissioner
In this regard, Divisional Commissioner Radhakrishna Game said that I will talk to the Municipal Commissioner in this regard. If there is dirt there, it will be cleaned. Recently, a machine has been purchased by the Municipal Corporation for cleaning the dirt. The machine will be turned off so the work has stopped. I will talk to the Municipal Commissioner and ask him to start the work. With this machine all the dirt of Ramkund can be removed.
– Radhakrishna Gamay, Divisional Commissioner
Stain on the splendor of Nashik
Seeing the filth in such an important area, the people who came here looked a little disappointed. Every day a large number of devotees come here. This includes from children to the elderly. In the Corona period, instructions are being given repeatedly to take special care of cleanliness. Despite this, it is shocking to not pay attention to the Municipal Corporation in this direction.
Damage to the image of the city
A large number of people from other cities and states come to the Ramkund of Nashik for worship. Here the souls of their ancestors are also worshiped for peace. In such a situation, the image of the city itself is being harmed by seeing such filth and plight in front of the people of other states.
