Firozpur (Punjab): The Border Security Force (BSF) on Friday night shot down a Pakistani hexacopter (drone) flying at low altitude in Punjab’s Ferozepur area near the International Border. According to ANI, BSF said, the drone is made in China and entered Indian territory from Pakistan side.
ANI quoted an official as saying that senior BSF officials have reached the spot and the search operation is going on in the area. The sound of hum was heard at around 11.10 pm by an alert team of BSF patrol at the border post in Amarkot. On investigation, it was seen that a drone which was a hexacopter was flying at a very low altitude near the Indian border. The drone was found at a distance of about 300 meters from the international border. After this, the border was about 150 meters from the security fence, after which it was captured.

It is to be noted that, on 17th December, at around 23.10 hrs, alert troops of Border Out Post (BOP) Wan, Ex-103 Bn, Amarkot detected and shot down this border flying drone. Top BSF officials have already reached the spot and search operation is on. The recovered drone is ‘Made in Chinachine’. BSF alert jawans have once again foiled the conspiracy of criminals across the border.

According to ANI, the officer said that now several BSF teams are conducting a search operation in the area to find out whether this drone was used to drop narcotics or weapons from across the border.
