Mumbai: BMC has taken a big decision after the news of people doing their own corona test kits at home amidst the corona cases coming to the fore in Mumbai. According to a report, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation plans to issue instructions to chemists to keep a record of people buying self-testing COVID kits from medical stores to see if they are infected with COVID. This step was taken after it was noticed that people are not registering their names on the website of Self-Testing COVID Kits and hiding their COVID test reports from the Municipal Corporation.
According to a report in the Free Press Journal, a senior BMC official told that, as per the procedure, a person who buys a self-COVID kit from a chemist, will have to scan the code given on the wrapper of the kit and the company’s You have to file your status report on the website or app. The company then informs the corporation about the positive patients. However, it has been observed that many people are not uploading their corona reports so the administration has decided to ask the manufacturer, distributor and chemist to keep a record or note mentioning the name and number.

The report quoted the official as saying that, we got information that so far three lakh citizens have purchased self-test kits and out of that 98,000 people have uploaded their information on the company’s website. Of these, 3,149 people have been found positive. Let us tell you that since December 2021, many people are suffering from cough, cold and fever.
