Two days before the budget session, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said in the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly, “During the Corona period, we could not increase the dearness allowance (DA Hike) of government employees. Now we will increase it to 31 per cent and from April, the employees will start getting the benefit of the increased dearness allowance. According to officials, about 7 lakh employees will get the benefit of the decision of the state government.
Earlier, Congress MLA Jaivardhan Singh had said that he would raise the demand to restore the old system of pension in the coming session.

Central government can also increase DA soon
According to reports, the central government employees are expected to get a hike in DA before Holi. If the government announces a 3 per cent hike in DA for central government employees, then central employees will get an allowance at the rate of 34 per cent. Presently they are getting DA of 31 per cent of the basic salary. These employees can also get the salary of the last two months along with the salary of March. More than 1 crore central employees and pensioners will get the benefit of increase in Dearness Allowance.
Dearness allowance is provided to compensate for dearness and it forms a major part of the salary of central government employees.

According to a report, after increasing the DA, the monthly salary of state government employees in Madhya Pradesh will increase from two thousand to 25 thousand. This will increase the burden of six thousand crore rupees on the government in the financial year 2022-23. The state government had increased the DA on Diwali from 12% to 20% last year. At the same time, the government has decided to give a risk allowance of Rs 150 per month to the cleaning workers.
