Gadchiroli, Direct voting has started from 7.30 am on Tuesday, December 21, for the universal election of 9 Nagar Panchayats of the district. In the voting process which lasted till 3 pm, 75.41 percent polling has been registered in the district.
While fulfilling their responsibility, the fate of 555 candidates has been imprisoned in EVMs for total 142 seats of 9 Nagar Panchayats. Now the direct counting of votes is going to take place on January 19. Due to which the reputation of all political parties is at stake.
There are 17 divisions in the above 9 Nagar Panchayats. But after the cancellation of the reservation of the seats reserved for the backward category of citizens, as per the order of the court, a direct election program was run in 9 Nagar Panchayats for the seats other than the 11 reserved for OBCs. The process of voting was started at 7.30 in the morning from 144 centers in the district. The response of the voters during the morning was substantial. Due to which 41.41 percent polling was done till 11.30 am.
At the same time, 63.96 percent polling till 1.30 pm and 75.41 percent polling till 3 pm. The election administration conducted the process of voting systematically. After the polling, the polling personnel were put on the base cap in the police settlement. The voters, while discharging their responsibility, have imprisoned the fate of the candidates standing in the electoral fray for the 9 Nagar Panchayats in the EVMs. Now the counting of votes is going to take place on January 19. Due to which all eyes are fixed on the counting of votes.
The highest turnout was 88.86 per cent in Korchi Nap
The citizens of 9 Nagar Panchayats of the district exercised their franchise by taking wide participation in the voting. The maximum voter turnout of 88.86 percent was recorded in Korchi Nagar Panchayat, which is recognized as a vulnerable area of the district. After that Mulchera 87.73 percent, Kurkheda 79.25 percent, Dhanora 79.15 percent, Chamorshi 78.68 percent, Sironcha 74.52 percent, Etapalli 74.04 percent, Aheri 69.02 percent, while Bhamragad Nagar Panchayat saw the lowest voter turnout at 67.04 percent.
Women voters looked more responsible
In the direct elections held in 9 Nagar Panchayats of the district, this year women have proved once again that we are responsible voters. A total of 37 thousand 672 voters have exercised their franchise for 9 Nagar Panchayats of the district. In which 18 thousand 759 male voters and 18 thousand 913 female voters are included. Due to which the participation of women directly in the voting process is visible.
tight police arrangements
The election process of the nagar panchayats of Korchi, Bhamragad, Etapalli out of the 9 nagar panchayats of the district were sensitive areas. Due to which it was invoking to vote here for the election machinery. Due to which strict police arrangements were kept at the said polling station. The voting process was completed peacefully under the tight security of the police.
‘Sakhi’ polling station attracted attention
Special Sakhi (Women) polling station was constructed to attract women voters under Etapalli Nagar Panchayat during the election of Nagar Panchayat. Many women voters went to this center and exercised their franchise. The said special polling station prepared for women voters was attracting everyone’s attention.
