Amravati. In the major Government Women’s Hospital (Duffrin) of the district, 6 thousand 778 children were born in 9 months from 1st April to 31st December. Of these, 156 children and 2 mothers died. The number of girls born in this period is less than that of boys. Even after running many schemes, the birth rate of girls has decreased.
3,503 boys, 3,275 girls born
In the last 9 months, a total of 3 thousand 592 women were delivered by caesarean section. So 3 thousand 321 women had normal delivery. In this 3 thousand 503 boys and 3 thousand 275 girls have been born. This shows that the number of girls is less than that of boys.
obstetrics of 6 thousand 913 women
In the last nine months, 32 thousand 637 women had come to the District Women’s Hospital for examination for maternity treatment. Out of these, 16 thousand 411 women were admitted for delivery. Out of this, 6 thousand 913 women were delivered in the last 9 months.
1,759 Baby Premature
District Women’s Hospital has a special care unit for low birth weight babies and in the last nine months, 1 thousand 759 babies have been born prematurely in the SNCU here. As soon as some babies are found to be underweight after delivery, they are kept in the SNCU. Also, some children from different places in the district are kept in SNCU for treatment.
2 mothers died, 156 children could not see the world
In the last nine months, two mothers have died during obstetric treatment at Dufferin Hospital, while 156 infants have died. While coming to Amravati from remote areas like Melghat, the condition of some women patients becomes critical. Doctors say that in such a situation the mother and the children die.
5 thousand 758 surgeries
Some women who come for delivery in the District Women’s Hospital have to do a caesarean. While some women have a normal delivery. In such a situation, doctors have to operate on some women. The hospital has done 3 thousand 48 major surgeries and 2 thousand 710 minor surgeries in the last nine months. In addition, some women have undergone family planning surgery.
200 bed independent unit
Women from different areas of the district come to the District Women’s Hospital for maternity treatment. Along with tribal women from inaccessible areas of Melghat, patients from Madhya Pradesh are also referred to this hospital. Many poor women have given birth to their children through this well-equipped hospital. Now this District Women’s Hospital is being updated. Soon a 200-bed independent unit for women patients will start here.
