Mumbai: The number of patients suffering from the new variant Omicron of Corona has taken a long jump. In the report of genome sequencing on Thursday, Omicron has been confirmed in a total of 23 people. Out of this, 13 patients have been found in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad, 5 in Mumbai, 2 in Osmanabad, 1 in Thane, 1 in Bhayandar and 1 in Nagpur. With this, the total number of patients in the state has reached 88. Out of which 42 people have been discharged from the hospital.
According to the information received from the Municipal Health Department, 3 out of 5 patients found in Mumbai are not residents of Mumbai. A 27-year-old girl from London is a resident of Mumbai, the second is a 21-year-old resident of Mumbai who has come from Abu Dhabi, the third is a 42-year-old woman from Rajasthan who has come from Muscat and the fourth patient is a 42-year-old woman resident of UP. Which has come from Muscat. The fifth patient is a 15-year-old girl who is a resident of Pune and has come to London. Let us inform that all these patients were tested at the airport and they were found infected with COVID, after which their samples were sent for genome sequencing and new variants have been confirmed in it.
No symptoms in 17 patients
According to information received from the State Health Department, out of the total patients found on Thursday, 17 have no symptoms, while 6 people have mild symptoms of the disease. The total number of patients in Mumbai has reached 36, out of which 19 patients have recovered and returned home. Genome sequencing reports of 124 people in the state are yet to come.
