Pimpri: The rapid urbanization of Pimpri-Chinchwad is putting enormous pressure on the judiciary. There are 2,926 civil claims and 48,632 criminal cases pending against 51,558 cases in the Pimpri-Morwadi court. This is causing a lot of inconvenience to the citizens of the city and they have to resort to the District Court of Pune to get justice.
The office bearers of Pimpri-Chinchwad Advocate Bar Association held discussions with Mayor Usha Dhore. After this, the mayor gave the above information while talking to the journalists.

Pimpri Morwadi Adalat hears four to five civil cases and 15 to 16 criminal cases every day. This is putting tremendous pressure on the judiciary. The number of pending claims is likely to increase in future depending on the extent of settlement of claims. The district court does not even have enough vehicle parking for lawyers and citizens in the city. Since there is no family court in the city, women have to go to Pune for help. It has to be endured unnecessarily. Court building insufficient for judicial action The court building in Morwadi is inadequate for judicial action. There are many difficulties in dealing with the judiciary.

State government approved 16 acres of land
The state government has sanctioned about 16 acres of land of Pimpri-Chinchwad Navnagar Development Authority for setting up a judicial complex in the city. Mayor Dhore said that in the recently held general meeting, approval was given to provide Rs 16 crore for the construction of the building. The site has been handed over to the state law department and the site has also been partially vacated. There are plans to build 82 court halls in the proposed complex. This will include District Court, Senior Level Civil Court, Junior Level Civil Court, Motor Vehicle Court, Family Court, Co-operative Court, Labor Court, residence for judges etc. In this meeting, Auditorium Leader Namdev Dhake, Standing Committee Chairman Ed. Nitin Landge, Association President Ed. Sachin Thopte, Atish Landge, Sanjay Datir-Patil, Dinkar Barne, Gaurav Walunj, Nikhil Bodke etc. were present.
