Nagpur. Entire Vidarbha has received investments ranging from Rs.4,000 to Rs.4,500 crores in the last two years. Land has also been allotted to these industries. The good thing is that there are many proposals in the pipeline as well, to which efforts are being made to give land at the earliest. About 2,000 crore investment is coming in the textile park in Amravati itself, while a lot of auto companies are coming in Nagpur district. The scarcity of land has started being felt in many places, after which the purchase of land has been started afresh. Land is being purchased on a large scale in Umred, Katol, Yavatmal and Amravati. This information was given by Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) CEO P. Anbalagan.
In the conversation during the program organized at Butibori Manufacturing Association (BMA), he said that 400 acres of land is being taken in Katol, 300 acres in Yavatmal and another 2,500 acres in Amravati. A lot of land has already been bought. He told that the good thing is that auto companies are investing in Nagpur. Only 2 auto companies are investing around Rs 1,400 crore. Both have got the land and the works have also started. The work of 7-8 companies is starting in Butibori.
6,000 crore investment on solar plant
Anbalagan said that solar plants are being considered to provide electricity to industries at low rates. MIDC will invest at least 6-7 thousand crores on this project. These projects will come across Maharashtra. MIDC plans to generate at least 1,000 MW of electricity from solar. He said that even if any group wants to work on captive solar project, MIDC will give land to industries at low rates and they will be encouraged. In Aurangabad and Hinjewadi SEZs, MIDC has already taken the license for distribution of electricity under joint venture and soon the license for distribution of electricity will be taken in other areas as well.
took back 2,000 acres of land
Anbalagan said MIDC has taken back 2,000 acres of land in the last two years. Out of this, 500 acres of land has been given for new industries. 700 acres of land has been taken back from 2 persons. From this it can be estimated that how people are sitting on the ground. Rajesh Jhanjhar, Mahesh Patel, Sunil Akulkar, Pradeep Khandelwal of MIDC were present on this occasion.
Deputy CEO will come 2 days a week
Anbalagan said that to address the problems of Vidarbha, the department has decided that the Deputy CEO of MIDC will stay in Nagpur at least two days a week. This will solve the problems facing Vidarbha. Soon this decision will be implemented.
