- Notice to over 1,000 property holders
Wardha. The city council administration has started a campaign from March 4 to collect the outstanding tax from the property holders in the city, for this 7 roads have been appointed, meanwhile, strict attitude is being adopted towards those who do not pay property tax continuously. Notices have been issued to more arrears. In the last 4 days, tax of Rs.25 lakhs has been collected. During this many citizens are seen paying tax on their own.
Main source of income of NP Administration
It is the responsibility of the city council administration to provide basic facilities to the residents of the city, to complete it smoothly, the income from property tax is very important. According to the funds available through the tax, it is easy to make provisions for the developmental approach of the city in the coming year. But, many property holders do not pay taxes regularly, as a result, in the month of March, efforts are being made to fulfill the target of tax collection by campaigning on behalf of the city council administration.
58 percent tax due on property holders this year
In the financial year 2021-22, around 15 crore tax arrears are due on the property holders of the city. This has to be recovered by the city council, out of which only Rs 6 crore 31 lakh has been recovered so far, out of which 58 percent of the outstanding tax has to be recovered by the city council by 31 March.
Total 25,841 property holders in the city
There are a total of 25,841 property holders in the city, out of which 112 property holders have tax arrears of more than Rs 1 lakh, while more than 20,000 people have tax arrears on more than 1 thousand people, all have not been paid tax despite the city council administration sending notices. As a result, now the NP’s squad has started collecting tax strictly after reaching the home of the arrears.

The city council on Monday sealed 2 properties located in Havaldarpura, despite sending a notice to pay the tax, the property holders were not paying their dues. Likely to be sealed.
