- Residing in neighboring Telangana state by changing name
Chandrapur. In the murder case of 17 August 2011, two accused were released on parole in 2013. But since that time both these accused were absconding. After 9 years, the police team of the local crime branch arrested both of them from Korpana tehsil village. After interrogation, the police came to know that both the renamed neighbors were living in Adilabad district of Telangana state.
There is a Dhaba of Nago Rishi Redlawar at Tadali Tea Point under Ghugghus Police Station. There is a panthela of Sunil Ramesh Sakharkar. Both were each other’s father-in-law, son-in-law. In this dhaba, Chandu Kamble used to work with his wife and son. On 17 August 2011, Chandu demanded three months’ salary from Nago Redlawar. There was a dispute between the two regarding this matter. Asking Chandu to vacate the room, Nago slapped him saying why he asked for the salary. But Chandu again demanded salary.
Due to this, the angry Nago and Sunil Deon caught Chandu and stabbed him with a knife. To save him, his wife Shahnaz came in the middle and injured him with a knife. The injured wife husband was brought to the hospital for treatment. But the doctor declared both of them dead. On the basis of the report, the Ghuggus police registered a case of murder against the father-in-law, son-in-law and arrested him. The police filed a charge sheet against both of them in the court. The court had sentenced both of them to life imprisonment, terming them as murderers.
Both the criminals, who were serving sentences in Nagpur jail, were released on parole on 4 May 2013. After 15 days, both were to return to jail. But both escaped. On September 3, 2013, the police registered a case against both of them and started the search. But they could not be traced. The police searched the relatives of the accused on the basis of mobile but could not be found. In the end, this police was handed over to the Thanedar Balasaheb Khade of Chandrapur Crime Branch.
The crime branch team got information that both the accused are residing in Ponala in the neighboring Telangana state of Adilabad district by changing their names. Both the accused were informed about coming to Pardi village of Korpana tehsil adjoining Telangana state and the police arrested both of them after planning.
On being asked the name and address of both, his name was Punala, T. Nagesh Madavi and Sunil Gedam, residents of Bela district Adilabad, were told. But when the police questioned them strictly, both of them confessed and told their names to Nago Rishi Redlawar and Sunil Ramesh Sakharkar, residents of Bappatnagar. On this basis, the LCB team has registered a case against both of them at the Ramnagar police station and handed it over to the Ghugghus police for further action.
This action has been taken under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Arvind Salve, Additional Superintendent of Police Atul Kulkarni under the leadership of PI Balasaheb Khade, PSI Samip Kapde, Rajendra Khanke, Surendra Mahto, Ganesh Mohurle, Vinod Jadhav, Ganesh Bhoyar, Dinesh Arade, Arpana Mankar etc.
