- Open category candidates will contest on OBC reserved seats
Yavatmal, Voting was held on November 21 for 6 Nagar Panchayats of the district. But by the order of the court, 18 reserved seats of OBC were postponed. Now 119 candidates will contest from the open category on those seats.
Voting for these 18 seats will be held on January 18, in which a total of 119 candidates have filed their nominations till Monday, the last day of filing nominations. In this, 18 applications were made for three seats of Ralegaon Nagar Panchayat. Here 4 for Division 4, 6 for Division 8, while 8 candidates from Division 11 filed nominations.
In Babhulgaon, 17 applications were received for 4 seats. Whereas 37 candidates filed nominations for 4 seats in Kalamb. In Mahagaon, 25 candidates filed nominations for four seats. There are 22 candidates in the fray for three seats in Maregaon. In Maregaon, candidates from Divisions 5 to 5, Divisions 6 to 8 and Divisions 14 to 9 are in the fray.
However, the last date for withdrawal of nominations is January 10. The picture of direct election will be clear only after seeing that how many of these candidates withdraw their nomination, that is, the picture of direct election will be clear only after withdrawal of nomination.
Election results of six nagar panchayats will be declared on 19th
Voting was held on November 21 for these 6 nagar panchayats: Babhulgaon, Maregaon, Ralegaon, Mahagaon, Kalamb, Jhari-Jamni. Voting for the remaining 18 seats will now be held on January 18. After that, votes will be counted in all the places on January 19 and the results of the elections will be declared.
