Nashik: Due to negligence and speeding driving in the rural roads of the district, 862 people died last year. In the rural part of the district, there were 7% more deaths in the road accident last year as compared to the year 2020. Whereas last year a total of 1,047 people died in road accidents in Nashik district.
Nashik Rural Police Superintendent Sachin Patil said that due to Corona ban last year, 801 people died in 746 accidents in 2020. Whereas in the year 2021, 862 people died in 788 accidents. Police is working and investigating those block spots where road accidents always happen. Infrastructure will be developed at these places. But the root cause of most road accidents is speeding driving and breaking the traffic rules.

There are total 98 black spots in rural parts of the district. Infrastructure work is going on at these places. Most of the road accidents occurred in Malegaon, Chandvad, Igatpuri and Ghoti of Mumbai-Agra Highway. Sinnar Ghoti Road, Sinnar Shirdi Road has also witnessed a large number of road accidents. Rural police officials of the district say that driving in the wrong direction on the highway, three people riding on a bike, driving without a helmet, road at night. Road accidents have increased due to reasons like sitting on edge dividers. However, the City Police has registered the death of 185 people in the road accident. In this way, in the year 2021, 1,047 people have died in road accidents in Nashik district.
