Pimpri: The administrative system will give priority to the solution of water problem in Pimpri-Chinchwad city. Additional 100 MLD water will be available by the middle of April. Water will be distributed from Chikhali Water Treatment Plant. Giving information about this, Municipal Commissioner Rajesh Patil said that therefore there will be no shortage of water for the residents of the city during the scorching summer months of April and May.
The Municipal Water Supply Department started water supply in the city from 25 November 2019 on the basis of equitable water distribution, leaving one day, which is going to complete two and a half years. However, water is being supplied to the residents of the city except one day. The municipal administration had taken a stand that it cannot supply water daily without getting additional 100 MLD water. Andhra will supply daily water to the city of Pimpri-Chinchwad from the water from the Bhama-Askhed dam. For this, 98 percent water treatment plant at Chikhali with a capacity of 100 million liters has been completed. Major works like aeration fountain, clarifluculator, filter house, pure water supply etc. have been completed.
