Women’s Investment Choice: Women are preferring property to investment over gold, SIP/stocks and luxury fashion. This has come to the fore in a recent survey by brokerage-free real estate firm NoBroker. 69 percent of the women surveyed showed more interest in investing in property. 27 percent of the women surveyed showed interest in buying property for investment, while 81 percent of women showed interest in buying a home for their end use. According to NoBroker’s annual real estate report released in December 2021, there has been a steady increase in the number of registrations of women buyers in the last few years.

Increased demand for more ready-to-move properties on the outskirts of the city
- 41% of women willing to buy property for investment purpose were looking to buy a property on the outskirts of the city. Due to the two-year epidemic and work from home, the attraction has increased on the outskirts of the city. Big houses could be bought here at cheap prices. While 50% of the women surveyed were looking to shop in the city itself, 9% were looking to buy a property in their hometown.
- 94% of the surveyed women preferred to invest in residential properties while 6% of women showed interest in commercial properties.
- 73% of the women involved in this survey were looking to buy a property of Rs 40-75 lakh while 20% of the women were looking to buy a property of Rs 75 lakh to Rs 1 crore. At the same time, 7% of women were looking for assets worth more than 1 crore.
- The most preferred option was 1 and 2 BHK.
- Ready-to-move property was the choice of 63% of the women surveyed, of which 56% were from Bangalore.
Shopping for Investments in Delhi-NCR and Bangalore
Most of the women looking to buy for investment purpose were from Delhi-NCR and Bangalore, while women buying for end use mostly came from Mumbai and Chennai. The survey was conducted in Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai and Pune and more than 9000 women took part.
