Sensex and Nifty rose 0.80 per cent on Friday, influenced by RBI’s non-change in bank rates for eight consecutive times and global market conditions. The Sensex reached a new peak on Friday. The highest rally was seen in Titan. On Thursday, a rally of 11 percent was seen in this stock. On Saturday, it increased by another 2 percent and it reached Rs 2,429. It crossed its previous 52-week high of Rs 2,365.

264 stocks at 52-week high in BSE
A total of 264 stocks touched their 52-week peak on Friday on the BSE. Tata Motors, Titan, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL), Page Industries and Voltas were some of these major stocks. In BSE 200, 17 stocks were trading at their 52-week high. These included IRCTC, which rose 17 per cent this week. Such stocks include Indian Hotels, NHPC, Godrej Properties, Bata India, Supreme Industries and SRF.
However, some stocks even reached their lowest level of 52 weeks. These include Alpha Transformers, Getalong Enterprises, Purple Entertainment, SBL Infratech, Shukra Jewelers and Trescon Ltd. Only one share in the NSE was at its 52-week low. This stock was Coastal Corporation Limited. Although BSE and NSE are making new highs continuously for the last few days. The Sensex is expected to reach 60,600 by the end of this year.

On the NSE, 114 stocks hit their 52-week peak. These shares include Thomas Cook India Limited, Nazara Technologies, Lemon Tree Hotels, Persistent Systems, Chemplast Sanmar, Paras Defense & Space Technologies, Chalet Hotels, EIH Associated Hotels, Macrotech Developers, MCX, and Inox Leisure.
